OFFICIAL SOUVARINE APPRECIATION PAGE

Who is Souvarine, you ask? Well, for those of you who don't know, and I would be surprised if you did:

4chan (wait, don't leave yet!) has an imageboard called /qst/, which is dedicated to quests (think Dungeons and Dragons but online, more explanation here). Before you run screaming at the word "4chan" be aware that /qst/ has a different culture from the typical 4chan boards that everyone thinks of when 4chan is mentioned, i.e. the hellhole that is /pol/ and most 4chan boards probably. I don't know, /qst/ is the only imageboard I look at. All things considered it's surprisingly normal, no Nazis or anything, and there are some fun quests on there.

Most of the good quests on /qst/ are archived at this site. Being 4chan there still is some anti-PC culture flying around, obligatory disclaimer, but seriously not everyone there is a Nazi (please I'm not a Nazi... reader-chan... don't leave me...)

Now that's out of the way: Souvarine is a random person on the Internet who has run several quests on 4chan. Everything he does is completely insane, and I mean that in the best way possible. The first quest of his I read was GOLGOTHA. Funny thing, I'd recently finished Don DeLillo's Cosmopolis when I found that thread. What do I see when I open it? References to Don DeLillo's Cosmopolis, and a whole smorgasbord of other insane references to the literary, the occult, ancient mythology etc, all kinds of cool stuff. You play as a billionaire vampire who has to escape from their billion-dollar apartment, and there's so much more going on behind the scenes, it's amazing. Souvarine's plots aren't that cohesive but his writing and vocabulary is unparalleled on /qst/ and his settings are creative as hell. I am insanely impressed by everything he makes. And because everything he makes is stored on /qst/ on 4chan, of course nobody knows he exists and everything he writes will tragically be lost forever to the annals of the internet, which is why I am at least trying to shill him here.

Seriously Souvarine's knowledge of literature, culture, history, bizarre speculative fiction, stuff ranging from Shakespeare to Chauncer and Homer's epics, is just insane.

Anyway, since it's very hard to find stuff on 4chan (threads are automatically deleted after a while, archive sites exist but can be hard to search), here's an archive of most things Souvarine has made:

General Discussion Threads

Souvarine has been pretty active in /qst/'s general discussion threads. I haven't looked at all his posts, but just searching through his message history should give you a pretty good idea of the kind of person he is.

Note that since posters on 4chan are anonymous by default, they're not recognized by username. However each anonymous poster has an ID that marks all posts made by the same person. IDs change by thread, I've marked the ones that Souvarine has. It's generally pretty obvious when he's talking.

Just Ctrl+F Souvarine's ID and you'll see everything he's said in a particular thread.
